Green Belt Studios

Bennett Audio Ltd has expanded into studio recording with a purpose-built post-production facility in High Barnet, Herts. This is just at the end of the Northern Line, so it's handy to London, whilst essentially in a country location.

We converted the loft in a Victorian house, building an acoustically sound control room from scratch. The studio will be useful for the following purposes:

  • Mixing live recordings, including a small recording space for "smoke and mirrors" overdubs (I won't tell anyone)
  • Re-mixing already recorded material
  • Mixing multitracked audio for your live DVD
  • Audio editing
  • Recording of mostly acoustic or sequenced material (there isn't room to record drums)
Buy yourself a pair of good ears

You will know me as a live engineer, and probably will think, "Can Mr Bennett cut it in the studio?". Remember that I have been mixing music for donkey's years, creating hi-fidelity, powerful soundscapes in acoustically challenging environments, always with limited (or zero) time for soundcheck. Just imagine what could be achieved in a pristine listening space, with all day to construct the mix! It might just be an amazing success. I have examples of previous projects if you want to hear them, right here on the Media/Recordings page.

  • Do you want to record a live show for B-sides, web or DVD content?
  • Do the tracks you just got back need remixing?
  • Does your demo need polishing?

Please call Green Belt Studios to discuss your post-production audio needs.

Whatever the system you have recorded onto, and regardless of what gear you're mixing down on, mic choice/placement and sounds at the source are absolutely vital, as is a good performance, and a sympathetic mix engineer. Green Belt studios aims to provide all the necessary elements to capture and mix a first-class, broadcast-quality product. The performance is up to you.

"The equipment is important, but, to be honest, I’m still working on the same board I’ve worked on since 1990. The important part is who’s pushing the buttons” - Dr Dre

“What kind of gear do I have in there? (My studio) It doesn’t matter. Because its not the gear that makes the talent” - Les Paul
